Widescreens -- big deal

I read a tech article about the growing popularity of widescreen displays for laptops and televisions. In fact, one researcher predicted that by 2008 all new laptops will be widescreen. Actually, this is already the case for all new laptops sold by HP with the Compaq label. Yes, that's right, you can't get a compaq laptop that doesn't have a widescreen display...which urks me to no end since
